Friday – Great fun. Lots of people, lots of drinks and lots of fun. Even a guest from Quebec City. I believe he referred to Pride weekend as Disneyland. Saw Mama G before we went to the bar.
Everyone loves Mama G till he gets drunk then he's kinda scary.
We lined up for a bar that was a basically a sweat box (really it was prolly about 30 degrees in there). But who says fun and sweat don’t mix, right? This was everyone’s first night out for drinks and we all went hard…shooters, beer, vodka and cigarettes (lots and lots of cigarettes). After the bar at around 4:00 we headed down the street for more drinking at a friends house. On the way there two of my friends joined in on a huge game of spin the bottle at Maitland and Church (not me though I’m a good boy and it seemed kinda gross). I tried my best to sneak off so I could escape and go home (it was 4am). I was safely in the Superfresh Mart in line to buy cigarettes for at least 10 min when Mo popped his head in door and “said there you are”, oh no not more drinks. So I stayed up another hour and had some more drinks. I went home loaded and thought to myself only two more days to go.
Saturday – Felt like shit for about 30 min but then I was fine. A friend was having a house party so off I went for drinks at about 3:00. There we named my unborn child. His name is Chicklet! Chicklet is a whole separate post for another time but that should explain the post below. We drank there until about 7:00 then we headed for a beer garden (yaaay! Drinking in a parking lot, my favorite).
Met lots of fun people and a girl with a great shirt.
After the beer garden closed the lines were huge everywhere so we went to the Black Eagle because the line was short.
and there we met a nightmare British lady I called Baby Spice.
. Some guy out on the patio was really rude….I guess he was there to meet a leather daddy and be mean to everyone else. Hope he went home alone! After that we went to Woody’s where the girl inline behind me absolutely hated me. I mean really hated me. So I just picked on her more. I soon had to stop because she was getting so flustered.
After that everyone went home except for me. I wanted more drinks and more fun so I went to another bar and while standing in line (that was pretty short) this 27 year old hottie tried to pick me up. For some reason a drunk Auntie gets hit on quite a lot. Maybe I don't look like I hate everyone when I'm drunk....who knows? Anyway the hottie bought me drinks and later asked me to go to a party at some huge bar in the entertainment district (
System I think) but it was late and I'm not 25. I went home soon after at about 4:00.
Sunday – Woke up and the hang over lasted a good hour to an hour and a half. Met up with Salem and had some Wendy’s for a something to eat where I saw two floats go by (that was good enough for me…great parade now bye). Off to a parking lot for some drinking. It started off slow…I had to trick myself into getting drunk but one it started it was all good times. Cashew and Candy showed up. Lots of other friends showed soon after. Then Jason and Paul showed up. Paul was loaded and it was only around 2:30. He kept falling into people and no one could understand him when he spoke (yeah, it wasn’t pretty). He went home by about 4:00pm. That must have made for a memorable Pride Day. Jason spent a lot of time being scared. Of what, I’m not so sure but he looked absolutely terrified before he snuck off and went home. The music was good even though Ultra Nate sang about three versions of “Free”.
A friend named Angela showed up with a friend of hers from out of town who was wearing the same shirt as me and was automatically named Chicklet (my unborn child). Poor guy…but he took it all in good humor.
We got a lot of "was that on purpose" from lots of people so I guess it was our 15 mins of fame. Lots of drinks brought on the night and some great DJs.
It was now almost 11:00 and time to move on. Only four of us headed out to a bar. There was quite the line but I did explain how lines could be fun. And well it was prolly the most memorable parts of the day because the people in front of us were absolutely crazy. Here’s the proof…
We had a great time inside dancing and drinking. When these guys decided it was time to go home I made one more stop before I went back home and I ran into Salem. He was a little tipsy and maybe too friendly
I went home about ½ hour or 45min after arriving. I did nothing on Monday but watch TV and eat cookies. I had a great weekend but I’m not going to be able to do this for many more years…
